The book of Chorales met Modelo62

The Book of Chorales is een project van het professionele ensemble Modelo62 uit Den Haag. Er wordt samengewerkt met amateurmusici uit de vier Nederlandse CoMA Ensembles, waaronder het CoMAMaastricht Ensemble.

In de toerlichting schijft componist en artistiek leider Ezequiel Menalled van Modelo62:

The Book of Chorales is an acoustic installation-concert by Ezequiel Menalled and Modelo62 that explores notions of open form, sound and its relationship with space. This participatory work invites a horizontal, collective experience where free-time musicians from around The Netherlands become co-creators in an ever-evolving soundscape. Drawing inspiration from the organic, collaborative nature of coralli (corals)—individual choices creating a meta-form—the piece embodies the beauty of collective music-making through a carefully designed framework of stations, musical leaders, and open interpretation.
At the heart of the project is a book containing a wide palette of chorales and musical fragments—diverse in style, open in instrumentation, and flexible in voice count. Multiple performance stations (approximately 5) will be positioned throughout the space, each equipped with The Book of Chorales. Musicians congregate around these stations, exploring and performing the chorales in any order.

 De eerste presentatie vindt plaats op ? November in Rotterdam.

Op 10 januari 2027 zal The Book of Chorales in Maastricht klinken tijdens het jaarlijkse  Nieuwjaarsconcert van Ensemble 88. Het concert vindt plaats onder auspiciën van Intro in Situ in de Banka Studios.
